LEGO Back to the Future DeLorean
When you get turned into a LEGO Minifigure, you've pretty much reached legendary status in my opinion. So congratulations, Michael J Fox. You badass. And, in adjectival form, check out the badass reason Marty McFly gets to be an iconic building block action figure in the first place: a badass LEGO Back to the Future DeLorean. One of the (seemingly very rare) LEGO CUUSOO projects that has votes and approval from both fans and the brick world's Man, the time machine model is set for sale through LEGO.com beginning August 1, 2013.
Designed by LEGO fans Masashi Togami and Minifig Builder Sakuretsu, this DeLorean model includes the film version's Flux Capacitor, time display tile, Mr. Fusion Home Energy Reactor, OUTATIME license plate, and LEGO Minifigures of both Fox as McFly and Christopher Lloyd as Doc Brown. The set also equips buyers to construct all 3 versions of the time machine featured in the Back to the Future trilogy.
Togami and Sakuretsu, being decent as well as clever and industrious dudes, have decided to donate the (measly, completely lame) 1% in royalties LEGO will pay them for having their concept selected for production to the Michael J Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research. Wouldn't it be nice if LEGO matched--or even timesed 10--that gesture?
Yep. Fat chance is what I'm thinking too.
