Pocket Kick Speaker
iLounge awarded Soundfreaq's Pocket Kick its highly coveted Portable Speaker of the Year award. Yes, that's right. Highly coveted, just like the Nobel Prize for Making Shit Up. Buuut...bogus award or not, I have to concede that the dam of portable Bluetooth speakers has burst and we are swimming in a flood of them. So if the Pocket Kick is being called out by anyone, whether it be iLounge or my mama, as the most meticulously engineered purveyor of powerful sound, at least that's something to differentiate it from the rest of its speaker cohorts.
Soundfreaq's Pocket Kicks are fitted with a pair of custom drivers and a passive radiator set between two full-metal, open-air grills. The configuration helps to optimize airflow and project full-frequency sound, with lower frequencies kicked out the back. Functionally, the speaker's smooth angles, 5.9" x 2.5" x 1.2" dimensions, and 0.6 pound weight contribute to its portability and "Pocket" moniker, making it simple to slip in and out of pockets or bags snag- and sag-free.
Pocket Kick playback time is 10+ hours per charge, and recharging is done via any USB port. Speakers include touch button controls for volume and playback. They can also be used as a speakerphone.
