Medea Vodka is proof (80 proof, to be more specific) once again that what's on the inside really doesn't count. Because even if the liquor's crap, who doesn't want a vodka bottle with a programmable, running LED marquee to tell the world, "Happy Holidays!", "Bottoms up!", and "From here it looks like you have a drinking problem!"? Fortunately for Medea drinkers, Medea makers claim the liquid component of their product is as pleasing to the palate as the pretty light component is to the eyes. They boast that their vodka is "made from the purest artesian water and distilled sixteen times using centuries old mastered techniques perfected since 1777 in the world�s first center of distillation excellence in Schiedam, Holland." Holy crap, Schiedam, Holland?! If I knew what or where the hell that is, I'm sure I would say, "Impressive. Most impressive."
But if you're like me, and numbers from the 18th century and name-dropping of lands far away don't really resonate, how about, Medea adds, a side of gimmick?
The vodka's cool, purply-blue LED ticker can save up to 6 messages of 255 characters apiece. Whoa, that's almost double a Tweet, and more than 1-1/2 times the number of characters my flip phone will allow per text message! Once messages are running, users can scroll through them using P-U and P-D buttons on the bottle (also used to program messages), and the display will operate continuously for 3 minutes before shutting off to conserve power. Included batteries last for over a year, or about 500 uses.
