About the Nintendo Controller Coffee Table

In all of his terrifically whimsical hardwood throwbacks, Charles Lushear of Bohemian Workbench eschews CNC machines and computers, assistants and oompa loompas, in favor of his hands. He designed the coffee table up for grabs here after Nintendo's classic 1985 controller, and built it in his Venice Beach workshop from solid, charmingly-paired walnut, mahogany, curly maple, and birdseye maple woods. In other words, Lushear has turned an idea that could have materialized as gimmicky and suitable only for a game room or the foot of a kid's race car bed into a neat and respectable piece of furniture any NES fan can be proud to display in the living room.

The Nintendo controller coffee table comes with a glass top to protect its raised buttons and provide a smooth, usable surface. It has rounded metal legs, which Lushear recommends placing only on carpeted floors or area rugs. Measurements are 30-1/2" long x 13-3/8" tall x 17" deep.
