Spyderco Squarehead Lightweight Folding Knife
Spyderco's Squarehead has trimmed down. Shed some USDs. The Squarehead Lightweight shares the same design concept and usability as the original Squarehead folding knife, but sells for about $30 less than its predecessor.
Design highlights include a sheep foot blade punched with Spyderco's trademark round hole, the latter of which enables either one- or two-handed opening. Blade composition is American-made CTS BD1 stainless steel, and the Squarehead's handle is an injection-molded fiberglass-reinforced-nylon (FRN) scale.
The outer surface of the FRN scale is textured for grip (looks kinda like a bike chain) and the inner surface has the knife's nested stainless steel liner, the foundation for its liner lock mechanism.
The Squarehead Lightweight is slightly larger than the original Squarehead at 3.53" in overall length and 1.2 ounces in weight, but the blade length is the same at 1.3".
