ProSource goes for a trifecta of excellence in their protein bars, a perfected combination of quality, tastiness, and clean ingredients that both give your belly a nutritionally-dense snack, and give your mouth flavors and textures it will happily devour.

I tried ProSource's Chocolate Peanut Butter and Double Chocolate Creme protein bars myself, and they reminded me of Bart Simpson. Remember the "Nobody better lay a finger" Butterfinger commercials he used to do in the early 2000s? The ProSource Chocolate Peanut Butter bar in particular tastes like Butterfinger Light to me. Flaky and flavorful, but without the density or cloying sugar of a candy bar. You also won't be digging bits of ProSource out of your molars for the next 3 hours after eating one.

Other ProSource munchers have commented the bars taste like a Little Debbie Nutty Buddy, and if you're looking to get a sense of their texture, that's definitely a closer comparison.

As for the quality of what you're eating in a ProSource bar, the company prides itself of using the "most bioavailable proteins" to get their product's gram count up to 15 per serving. That's predominantly Hydrolyzed Whey Isolate, a powder that undergoes enzymatic breakdown to turn the large whey molecules into peptides, their smallest and most absorbable form.

Absent in ProSource bars are weird, unpronounceable ingredients, and those from other bars that tend to cause stomach cramps or feelings of nausea and discontent after eating them. That means no: gelatins; filler fibers; or sugar alcohols. No soy protein or soy lecithin either.

ProSource sells their Chocolate Peanut Butter and Double Chocolate Creme protein bars in boxes of 12. Click here to read more about them, and purchase your own.
