PYYROS Survival Flashlight & Multi-Tool
I don't know why Stratos Aerospace Lab picked PYYROS as the name for their modular survival flashlight and multi-tool, and that's too many Ys in a row for me to take a guess at a clever acronym, so let's just assume it's a stylized nod to the Greek word for "fire." Stylized in name to match the flashlight's stylized design and functionality.
At its base, the PYYROS is a 1000-lumen torch made of 6061-T6 aluminum. Its handle end houses a USB charger and 3400mAh power bank, topped with a hammer cap you can use to pound in tent stakes and command order in the court during trail trials between the hikers who didn't bury their poo properly and the hikers who stepped in it. From there, you have PYYRO-gative to extend and customize the flashlight's base with several PYYROS modules. These include:
- An all-weather fire starter
- A 6-piece screwdriver set
- A personal beacon locator, transmitting on both the 121.5mhz + 406mhz frequencies
- A wind and water USB turbine charger
- Storage modules for medications, iodine purification tables, or matches
While we've seen tactical flashlights, survival tools, multi-tools, and even tactical survival multi-tool flashlights before, PYYROS believes it has some extra outdoorsman and prepper appeal with its modular nature and limitless customization options.
