Awair Glow Air Quality Monitor
Until last summer something like Awair's Glow air quality monitor wouldn't have gotten my attention. But after weeks of living under the drifting smoke of forest fires burning in all directions last summer, I'm now a little more curious about what I'm breathing. I like the Glow concept because in addition to analyzing and reporting on air quality, it also has smart features that allow it to power non-smart devices installed to help improve what you're breathing when it gets compromised.
Awair made the Glow small enough to fit in an outlet, and added a plug for connecting your choice of fan, humidifier, heater, purifier, etc. Through the Glow app you can program the monitor to auto-activate the device when the air quality drops below a certain threshold. Glow tracks chemicals (VOCs), CO2, humidity, and temperature, so you can base your settings on any combination of those data points. Glow also connects with home assistants (Alexa, Google Home) so you can tell them to turn on the humidifier, turn off the fan, or turn the purifier up to 11.
For added flair, Glow has a built-in night light that activates by motion, touch, or through your Awair app.
